Tonya Kidd-Beggs, is the Founder, CEO, Creator and Storyteller of STORIES Parfums, Northern Ireland’s very first luxury, niche perfume house. Tonya is also a Cosmetic & Fragrance Consultant within the beauty & fragrance industry, specialising in luxury, sustainability, perfumery, beauty, and storytelling. Tonya is a wife and mother to four and lives in a small village on the North Down coast of Northern Ireland and has a passion for luxury, sustainability and inclusivity.
Our sense of smell is the most powerful of all our senses closely linked to memory and mood, what we smell has the ability to stir us, move us and immerse us in an instant. STORIES Parfums was born out of her own transformative experience and was created to transport the mind and transform the emotions.

The best part of running your own business?
The best part of running my own business is the ability to create something meaningful that aligns with my values. I love the freedom to innovate and express my vision, especially in crafting inclusive and sustainable fragrances, perfumed candles, and nutrient-rich body care. As a forerunner in the world of luxury and sustainability, I like to call it the “new niche.” This journey allows me to positively impact my community and inspire others while balancing my roles as a founder, wife and mother to four. It’s a fulfilling path of growth and purpose that fuels my passion every day.
How do you unwind away from STORIES Parfums?
To unwind away from STORIES Parfums, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, exploring nature, and sharing meals. I also love reformer Pilates, the gym, and spa days for relaxation. Supporting young adults, especially those who have faced trauma, is a passion of mine.
My journey began with a hobby that led me to a perfume house in Grasse, France, where I discovered the powerful link between smell and memory. This helped me reconnect with childhood memories overshadowed by trauma and once forgotten, and it inspired me to share my scents and my stories, hoping others would resonate with their own stories, past, present, and future. Mentoring young adults and those dealing with trauma brings me immense joy and energy.
Your favourite product from your collection?
I don’t have a favourite scent or product; in truth, I love them all. This collection was created for men and women who appreciate exquisite fine fragrances and luxurious beauty infused with an ethical and sustainable approach. What I truly value are the small strides we’ve taken in the field of sustainable luxury.
Our refillable perfume bottles and the option to return for refill or refill at home are game changers. Additionally, we introduced an industry first: refillable luxury perfumed candle trios inspired by the top, heart, and base notes of our signature fragrances. This allows for fragrance layering that connects your body scent to your home ambience. We’re also breaking down misconceptions about perfumery notes, encouraging people to explore and discover what they truly enjoy, free from preconceived notions.
What’s your shopping philosophy?
My shopping philosophy revolves around intentionality, sustainability, and individuality. Every purchase should reflect our values and contribute positively to the world. It’s not just about acquiring products; it’s about making mindful choices that align with ethical practices and support independent brands.
I prioritise sustainable options, such as slow fashion, timeless pieces, and second-hand shopping, which minimise waste and encourage a more responsible approach to luxury. I also embrace the idea of exploration—discovering what truly resonates with me. Free from trends, I don’t follow them. Shopping should be a personal journey that celebrates uniqueness and fosters a deeper connection to the products we choose. Ultimately, I aim to create experiences that inspire joy and promote a more sustainable future.
Do you have any exciting new plans or products for STORIES Parfums?
At STORIES Parfums, my vision for the future includes expanding our product lines while staying true to our core values of sustainability, luxury and inclusivity. As an independent brand, I understand that growth can be slow and challenging, but I’m committed to navigating these obstacles to scale globally.
I aim to introduce new fragrances, perfumed candles, and nutrient-rich body care products that continue to celebrate the art of perfumery. My goal is to create a legacy that lasts long after my retirement—one where people have a deeper understanding and appreciation of the art of perfumery, its emotional connections, and its transformative power.
I plan to engage with our community through educational initiatives, workshops, and collaborations that demystify the world of perfumery. By fostering a new generation of fragrance enthusiasts and industry advocates, I hope to leave a lasting impact that inspires others to explore and enjoy the rich tapestry of scents, elevating the conversation around luxury and sustainability in the world of fragrance.

Your top piece of advice for anyone starting their own business
Storytelling is a powerful tool in business. Your unique experiences and insights can resonate deeply with others, helping you connect on a personal level. Don’t underestimate the impact of sharing your journey—your story can inspire, motivate, and build trust with your audience.
When faced with rejection, remember that a “no” doesn’t define your worth or potential. It can be an opportunity for growth. Use it as a stepping stone to explore new possibilities. Often, a closed door is simply a signal that the timing wasn’t right or that there’s a better path ahead. Embrace the lessons learned and keep moving forward; every setback can lead to new opportunities if you remain open and resilient.
What does your dream blazer look like?
My dream blazer embodies my love for men’s suit styles and oversized silhouettes. It features a beautifully tailored cut that maintains its shape, even with the oversized fit. I envision it in a striking colour, perhaps a deep navy or rich burgundy, that makes a bold statement.
I adore pairing it with matching bold silks, adding a touch of luxury and flair. The blazer boasts large, structured shoulders and wide lapels, creating an androgynous look that blends elegance with a hint of edge. The design allows for a large shirt to be half-tucked, providing a relaxed yet polished vibe.
The fabric is exceptional, a blend of high-quality materials that feel amazing to the touch—smooth yet durable. Details like unique buttons or a subtle sheen elevate its sophistication, ensuring it stands out in any setting.
