Craftsmanship
Anna James is a brand that designs and produces garments with the same attention to detail as Savile Row tailors, with an injection of fashion and innovation. Anna’s tailoring background, textile heritage and subsequently her love for fabrics takes centre stage in her designs.
In 1932 Anna’s great, great-grandfather, Samuel Courtauld, founded the Courtauld Institute of Art, along with the Courtauld Gallery which is home to one of the world’s greatest art collections, and can be found in the magnificent setting of Somerset House.
The Courtauld’s legacy came from the textile industry which runs deep through Anna’s veins and where her passion for sourcing the finest quality fabrics (including 100% wool, velvet, linen, needlecord and silk from the UK and Italy) are of the utmost importance whilst also ensuring exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
